Welcome to the Color Me Green contest!

Here's how it works:
First you need to print the official page in order to start coloring it. Click here for a PDF of the page and print it.

Then you have until April 11 to color the page and return to the Norfolk Daily News. Feel free to drop it off at our office at 525 Norfolk Ave. or mail it to PO Box 977, Norfolk NE 68702. Voting begins Monday, April 16!

More than just colors!
Be creative! It's a coloring contest, but you aren't limited to just colors. Use whatever you have around the house to decorate the page. Remember, it's all about being green, so think about different things you can use to decorate the page and be green! Can you recycle something around your house to decorate the page? You could use pop tabs, buttons, toothpicks, old newspapers. Creativity counts!

Who can enter:
There are five categories, so ALL AGES are welcome! The categories are 5 and younger, 6-9, 10-14, 15-20, 21-64 and 65 and older.

Prizes and Voting
Our sponsor, Green Fiber, will select the top six pages in each age category, but then you will decide the winners. You can vote up to five times a day from April 16-April 19. The winner will be announced at 8 a.m. Friday, April 20, at www.norfolkdailynews.com.

The entry that gets the most votes in each category will win a $50 Visa card from GreenFiber. That's right, there will be six winners!

You can help with Norfolk's cleanup, too!
Everyone is invited to grab their gloves and join the fun in Norfolk with the North Fork River Corridor cleanup on Saturday, April 21, from 9 a.m. to noon. Tasks will include litter pickup, weed pulling, brush removal, tree trimming, trash hauling, general cleanup and more.

Attend the Earth Day Festival
The Earth Day Festival -- at Johnson’s Park on Saturday, April 21, 2012, from 1-4 p.m. -- will host various booths featuring interactive games, crafts, educational demonstrations and a scavenger hunt for the kids. Jack Golden, a national educator whose approach to recycling, litter prevention and water conservation are entertainingly hilarious, will perform three shows throughout the afternoon. Please come out and see what Norfolk area businesses and organizations are doing to create a leaner, greener community.
